The book

Translation from Romanian:
P.S. On 21 October 2008, Dr Georges Dumitresco died suddenly in a clinic in Lausanne, where he had been admitted for a routine examination. From his hospital bed, he insisted on calling me to ease my natural concern and to enquire about his book, which was in the process of being printed. A book he never had the chance to see published! Thanks to the kindness of the printer, I stopped the printing to add the following to this critical introduction to his memoirs: doctors, doctor-artists have lost an esteemed and beloved colleague, a mentor and supporter of their noble extra-professional passion. Personally, I have lost a dear friend.

About online presence

Translation from Romanian:
A Romanian family, former patients at Vallorbe, settled in Sydney, maintaining constant contact by telephone and correspondence. Demonstrating extreme kindness and artistic sensitivity, they surprised me by creating a website for me. Not owning a computer and working with paper files, until the sudden interruption of my medical practice, I remained unfamiliar with the mystery and fascination of computer technology. These dear friends, impressively present through the constant nature of their friendship, are not only inconvenienced by the messages they receive in their new adopted country, but, with rare kindness and availability, they regularly send me my messages and computer correspondence by fax, apologizing for the delay. These exceptional beings, in their generosity, introduced me to a network that had been unexplored until now, and therefore inaccessible to me. In the guestbook dedicated to me since 2005, the website is regularly visited by galleries, art lovers, friends, and acquaintances from home and abroad. I deeply regret that, in the little time I have left, there is no room for initiation into this exciting "web of communication". In fact, information technology and all the innovations that follow one another at a diabolical pace, dictated by the savage law of competition, have stolen an impressive number of readers, listeners, and viewers from the influence of audiovisual media ( newspapers, cinema, radio, and television).

The emergence of the web and Google has paved the way for dialogue through rapid communication, interpretation, and response.

Invested in the creative process out of conviction, vocation, and passion, I am often amazed by the astonishing power of human beings to adapt, navigating across infinite realms. These scores extend across multiple wavelengths, between individualism and universality, between aspiration and despair, between reality and fiction, between fascination and terror, between the avalanche of attempts and the impossibility of capturing the truth.
