Triptic

Translation from French:
Dear readers,

Traditionally, the poet identifies himself as a faithful witness and reporter of his time, driven to write by the endless interrogations and reflections that haunt him, as well as by the insatiable curiosity that torments and drives him. Seeking to transcribe emotions and perceptions and to articulate words and images with the fervour of newfound freedom, this collection is a testimony, a commitment, and a struggle. Seeking to transcribe emotions and perceptions and to articulate words and images with the ardour of newfound freedom, this collection is a testimony, a commitment and a struggle.
Far from being exclusively contemplative and descriptive, it is part of an urgent thirst for communication and confession. Delving into my memory, I have relied on its evocative power, by gleaning my memories. Thus, throughout my poems, I have set out to share with you the events, images and facts that have marked my life, exciting in its encounters and discoveries, upsetting in its upheavals and setbacks.
If I gain your trust and your kind attention, if I also arouse your interest by touching your heart, it will mean that my commitment has not been in vain, that my voice has not gone unheard and that my pen has succeeded in affecting and convincing you. Welcome to my world, created under the auspices of Polyhymnia, a universe that may seem inhospitable at first glance, but is lucid and authentic, a microcosm open to arpeggios of feelings, constellations of ideas and plethora of words.

Translation from Romanian:
As a uomo universalis — in the sense attributed to this phrase for defining the great personalities of the Renaissance heyday Georges Dumitresco will probably be remembered by the history of culture. Indeed, our contemporary, like Leonardo da Vinci, is multifaceted, being a doctor, essayist, publicist, poet, graphic artist, and painter. But above all, Georges Dumitresco is a philosopher and moralist. In the book he has honored by entrusting us with its publication, an anthology of his poems conceived and written in three European languages over several decades, we have discovered Georges Dumitresco as a campaigner for truth and justice. Not a single commentator on his works has noticed or sufficiently emphasized the fact that this Romanian intellectual, who exiled himself to the foothills of the Alps, contributed, through his passionate, classical verse, to awakening consciences and to focusing the attention of the West on the tragedy of the Romanian people over the last fifty years.
