Poezie românească

Italian critic 1

Translation from Romanian:
What is to be cherished in the poet's art is his unrelenting evocative power and the emotion of his confessions, revealing the depths of experience, filtered through the heart and then crystallized in verse.
The verses become poems, reviving nostalgia for his native land and rebelling against the injustices that belong to the half-century in which the meanderings of destiny have placed him; at the same time, they condemn the spiritual void and the cascade of moral decline in the current renewal of generations.

Translation from Romanian:
A complete burning and yet another burning.
Even when everything seems to have been burned, consumed, the pure Light appears... Doctor Georges Dumitrescu knows that when the teaching of medicine ceases, when the body reaches its last and supreme effort, something remains, something unlimited, which can be expressed through music, through painting, through poetry...
Through the purifying flame of the spirit. Dr. Georges Dumitrescu knows that the grace with which he has been blessed by God can only be put to use in the service of God's teaching. His paintings and poems are moving and full of humility, confessions and humble prayers. Icons of love and gratitude springing from a volcano. I can only wish that they never fade away!

Alecu Popovici critic

Translation from Romanian:
The poetic universe, deeply meditative, often unusual, not always permeable, but clearly evocative and denunciatory of the doctor and painter George Dumitrescu, laboriously renders a global appreciation of his work.
The stirring tendency to stir up memories, the density of ideas and abundance of images, the diversity of registers, the impact and resonance of visions, as well as the impetuosity of feelings permeated by questions and fears, identify a style and language that is easily recognizable.

Olga Tudorache critic

Translation from Romanian:
The poetry of painter and poet George Dumitrescu is a suppressed boiling of memories that overwhelm him wildly, a cry of stirring experiences and feelings that seek emotional crystallization, an incursion into the past that has marked him indelibly, but also enriched him in experiences. His verses are overwhelming revelations in a process of conquering inner freedom, an intellectualized catharsis and a liberating spiritual escape.
