Defects are not so much a technological problem as a sociological problem.

It's the system for building systems that we should be correcting.

The only unforgivable failure is the failure to learn from past failure.

world wide experience

Have completed electronics engineering studies long before PCs have penetrated the private sector.

In the early 1970s, have worked with computers that were built with discrete components, that is: transistors, resistors and capacitors. Serviced computers that were built using Philips Circuit Blocks, that encapsulated a small printed circuit board with conventional electronic components. Computers built with Philips Circuit blocks operated at a clock speed of up to 100 KHz and used a rotating magnetic drum with fixed heads as peripheral volatile storage.

In mid to late 1970s, worked on mini computers and peripherals that were built with TTL Integrated Circuits and as of the early 1980s, developed software using 8 and 16 bit Motorola and Intel microprocessors , operating at 1 MHz clock upwards.

Years of experience with mini and micro computers and peripherals maintenance, long before hard drives capacity had surpassed the 1GB volume mark.

First steps in software design and development commenced using computer machine language and assembler compilers on 8 bit Motorola 6800/6809 and Intel 8080/8085 microprocessors.

The UNISA Computer Science degree had contributed to widening horizons towards a vast variety of computer languages:
- PL/I and Pascal MT+
- C and C++
- VB and VBA
- Process Architect and ViewStar Script for workflow systems development, driven by a LISP object orientated 4GL engine.

Designed and developed AlacartE and AlaTimer , software published as shareware, used and appreciated by many users world-wide. The barcode labels printing, , custom built applications for the TLP Zebra printers are published as freeware.

More recently, designed and developed a CMS Windows application , for users that prefer a quick n'easy way to update the contents of their website and a Library Management , Windows application for small to medium size libraries.

Webdesign responsive websites of the highest quality, using HTML, CSS, Javascript and PHP.

World wide workflow systems and documents management consulting, using Process Architect maps. ViewStar workflow consulting in Australia at Barclays Global Investors, BZW, Shell Oil, Tandem and BankWest, in the U.K. at Halifax Bank Leeds and Reading, London's Wandsworth and Brent Burroughs and in the U.S.A at Magellan, Workflow Systems, Tenet, iDoxSolutions and Brazos.

Technical Business Analysis documented with UML Case studies on a FINEOS workflow for CommInsure of Commonwealth Bank, implemented in Sydney Australia.
