Oribi Data Systems - Johannesburg, South Africa
[1990]
With the help of Borland's
Turbo C, I developed a software library for a
Voice Recognition and Telephone lines Controller made by
Rhetorex, for the
IBM-PC. The software was to be incorporated into an
automated telephone answering system and fax back on request, e.g. "Press 1
for this... Press 2 for that, etc."
First National Bank (ex Barclays Bank) - Johannesburg, South Africa
[1991]
As Technical Specialist in the Computer Security department of this large
financial institution, I used
Turbo C to develop virus detection and other PC
security related software. I developed a "Telegraphic Message Authentication (TMA)"
package, for the Bank's Treasury Department. This software operated under MS-DOS,
on the
IBM PS/2 and it replaced the outdated "Computerised Authentication of Telex Messages"
system, which operated on an
Olivetti P6060.
Related Systems - Johannesburg, South Africa
[1992]
Contributed, as Software Engineer to the development of a "Vehicle Satellite Tracking"
system, using Borland's
Turbo C and Turbo Pascal. Developed research type utilities
for finger print identification systems and for asset management and tracking,
using passive and active transponders.
