Alarm annunciator for ELCON
I have wholly designed and developed this software in accordance with a requirement specification produced by BPI and some
ELCON users. The software produced was required to read a configuration file defining the points to be monitored, collect information from the main ELCON database at fixed intervals and reflect the alarm state of the points on a VT100 or compatible terminal, or via a high current parallel I/O card to a traditional CONLOG alarm panel. During the execution of this project, I have contributed to the Engineering Department's overall efficiency by adding a library for VT100 terminal control and an alternate file handling library for processing text files, including many string handling and parsing routines.

Retrofit FEP comms driver
The serial asynchronous comms driver written for the FEP was designed to be more efficient and have lower overhead than the standard RSX driver. Some clients requested this retrofit as their application did not warrant a full FEP implementation. My task was to retrofit the stand alone
ELCON system to operate with the FEP driver and implement some of the FEP scheduling and tuning techniques.
